Southwestern Michigan man rescues dog from crash

(95.3 MNC)

A Dowagiac man was the talk of the town this past weekend after a social media post went viral about rescuing a dog from a crash.

Rob True of True’s Towing in Southwestern Michigan, responded to an accident Saturday morning on I-94 involving a semi-truck.

The accident claimed the life of an onsite construction worker and left the driver of the semi with serious injuries.

The next day, after True had hauled the semi away, he received a call from the wife of the semi-driver who said the family’s dog was ridding inside the truck.

After the call, True and his wife went out to the wrecked truck where they heard noises coming from the cab.

There, the two found a Rottweiler trapped under the truck’s sleeper.  True told Leader Publications that he was surprised the dog is still alive, given the hot, humid temperatures in the area.

The dog was returned to its family later on that day.
