A South Bend man was shot to death during a large house party.

Police were called around 3:45 a.m. on Sunday, Sep. 12, to the home in the 800 block of East Washington Street on the report of gunfire.

The victim, Montell O’Neal, 24, was found in the doorway of the home.

There were indications of gunfire happening inside and outside of the home.

By the time officers arrived, many people had left the scene.

The St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit is leading the investigation and has been interviewing witnesses.

So far, there is no word of any suspects or arrests.
