South Bend man, 25, sentenced for repeat weapons charge

A South Bend man has been sentenced to more than three years in prison on a weapons charge.

Daviae O’Shay McKinstry, 25, pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm.

McKinstry’s DNA was found on a gun, back in 2018, near a crime scene in Elkhart.

One of McKinstry’s previous felony convictions includes a battery for his involvement in a shooting.
