Sheriff: Any and all school threats are taken seriously, can result in criminal charges

In the aftermath of the Oxford High School shooting, false threats have been made toward some Berrien County schools.

The threats have resulted in some schools deciding to close…and Sheriff Paul Bailey says that has to stop.

The sheriff says any and all threats are taken seriously and will be investigated and the cases sent to the prosecutor for review for possible criminal charges.

Though most of the recent threats investigated turned out to be baseless, the sheriff and prosecutor say they are not jokes, but are crimes and will be treated as such.
