A divorced couple were found Sunday in a Berrien County home.

The ex-husband and wife were found in the woman’s home, and her brother is in custody for failing to report their deaths in a timely manner.

The former couple, in their 70s, were likely dead for over a month according to the St. Joseph Department of Public Safety. Police discovered the bodies Sunday evening at the home in the 1000 block of Michigan Avenue.

Natural causes are not being ruled out but officials described the deaths as “suspicious.” Autopsies are pending.
