Man in Niles arrested on suspicion of embezzling from baseball team

A man in Niles has been arrested, suspected of embezzling funds from an adult baseball league.

24-year-old Dakota Jackson got on police radar, first, when he reported having $6,000 cash, and medication stolen from his vehicle on Maple Street.

He said the money belonged tot the Thomas Stadium adult baseball league. Days later, ABC 57 News reports received a report from the stadium about the missing money.

One thing led to another and police obtained search warrants for financial documents, interviewed Jackson, who they say was responsible for managing the money, and determined he embezzled the money, and tried to cover up the crime by filing a phony theft report.
