LaPorte County woman arrested on warrants after hiding in a fridge

(ABC 57)

A LaPorte County woman who was wanted on multiple warrants was found hiding in an unusual place.

Deputies say they responded to a home in the 2900 block of U.S. 35 Sunday evening when they suspected the wanted woman was in the residence. While searching the home for 39 year-old Rabecca Rudd, they discovered a sheet that had been made into a rope hanging out of a window, tied to a table. Not believing that she’d escaped the home that way, they continued their search and eventually found Rudd hiding in a refrigerator.

She was taken into custody on warrants for battery, criminal mischief, and possession of paraphernalia.
