I&M Power to conduct aerial inspections of high voltage power lines

Indiana Michigan Power is conducting aerial inspections of high voltage transmission lines using helicopters to inspect for damage caused by the recent storms.

The flights, which began earlier this week and are expected to resume on Friday, Dec. 17, and include the South Bend, Elkhart and Southwest Michigan areas from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

The inspections give the utility the opportunity to search for possible damage to equipment and threats of damage posed by damaged or fallen trees.
