Scammers don’t stop for the holidays.

The Better Business Bureau has released a new warning about scammers now using multiple websites, according to WTHI.

The BBB says scammers contact people selling items on sites like Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace.

They’ll ask for your phone number and a six digit verification code sent to your phone. That code is actually a technique to hack into your Google Voice account.

The BBB says to read website policies to prevent potential scammers from tricking you into different payment methods and other tactics.
