Nebraska man killed in crash on U.S. 20 in LaPorte County

A man from Omaha, Nebraska, was killed in a crash on U.S. 20 in LaPorte County.

The collision happened around 12 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 28, at U.S. 20 and Wilhelm Road when the victim, Chance M. Van Dyne, 20, was traveling eastbound and slid on the snow-covered road into an oncoming lane and struck a semi trailer.

At that point, another semi crashed into the driver’s side of Van Dyne’s car.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The two semi drivers were not hurt.
