A man from Michigan was killed in a crash Wednesday morning, Jan. 12, in LaPorte County.

State police say 59-year-old Daniel Ray Clark from Marshall, Michigan was driving a red 2020 Freightliner eastbound on I-94 when he hit a guardrail, drove off the shoulder, and landed in a ditch.

Clark was found unresponsive in the semi and taken to a hospital in Michigan City where he was “declared deceased.”

The LaPorte County Coroner will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

Investigators are trying to figure out what caused the crash. The right lane of the roadway was closed for almost two hours for crash investigation and cleanup.
