A rumored Tesla dealership coming to the old JC Penney home store is not going to happen.

The South Bend Tribune reports that the plans to revamp the property are off. It was never confirmed that Tesla wanted to put a dealership there, but it was believed that “an electric car company” was interested but canceled the contract over the summer.

No plans are currently in place for the site, north of the corner of Grape and State Road 23.
