A man has been charged for allegedly pointing a gun at his girlfriend and trying to strangle her.

It happened earlier this month in the 1300 block of Lake Stream Court.

When Mishawaka Police arrived, they talked to the victim who took off from the home without shoes and called police from the car.

She said she awoke to find Jeffrey Joers the 2nd pointing a gun at her and said he threatened to kill her.

A couple of days later, the two were in an argument and he allegedly began to choke her and slammed her head against a hard surface.

ABC 57 News reports Joers has been charged with strangulation, domestic battery and pointing a firearm.
