Silver Alert issued for missing South Bend man has been canceled

UPDATE: The Silver Alert for Peter Metcalf was canceled at 8 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 14.

ORIGINAL STORY: A Silver Alert has been issued for a man from South Bend who is reported missing.

The St. Joseph County Police Department is investigating the disappearance of Peter Metcalf, 79.

Metcalf is described as white, 5-feet-8-inches tall, 157 pounds, with gray hair with blue eyes.

He was last seen wearing a black Air Force hat, navy blue coat, shirt, blue jeans, and driving a red 2016 Ford Edge with Indiana license plate WA9ND.

Metcalf was last seen around 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 13.

He is believed to be in extreme danger and may require medical assistance.
