Alcohol is considered to be a factor in a crash involving a snowmobile and a vehicle.

Indiana Conservation Officers were called around 9:45 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 19, to the 300 block of U.S. 6 in LaPorte County.

According to their investigation, a 20-year-old man driving a snowmobile with a passenger onboard and was trying to cross the highway when he struck a car.

The man and his passenger were thrown off the snowmobile.

The woman was taken to Memorial Hospital in South Bend with a serious  head injury.

The man was treated for minor injuries.
