Three bills that one state lawmaker says would improve Indiana’s agriculture landscape have passed the Senate.

One of the bills would require the state seed commissioner to charge a fair market fee for testing the purity and germination of large quantities of seeds. Another would establish requirements for the preparation and sale of food products from a home-based vendor.

All three bills were authored by State Senator Jean Leising. They now head back to the House for further consideration.
