Gov. Whitmer signs legislation for lower drug prices

Michigan’s Governor is looking to lower drug prices.

Governor Whitmer has signed legislation designed to lower the cost of prescription drugs. It would also hold pharmacy benefit managers accountable for prices.

The Governor signed the bill at a Meijer store in Lansing, saying some people are currently paying thousands for medication each month. She says the bipartisan legislation will improve transparency and ensure fair drug prices in the state, which also means fewer people will stop taking their medication due to the expense.
