A Sturgis man was arrested on more than 3 dozen felony charges after a traffic stop in St. Joseph County.

The Department says the 40 year-old suspect was pulled over shortly after 8:30 Friday night for an alleged equipment violation. It happened in the 64000 block of Balk Road.

He was operating the vehicle without a license, and further investigation uncovered fictitious state ID cards for three different states, as well as tools to create counterfeit bills, blank business checks, and more.

He was arrested on a total of 39 felony charges and taken to the St. Joseph County Jail.
