An Elkhart firefighter received a minor injury battling a fire at a garage in the 54000 block of County Road 7.

The blaze happened just after 8 a.m. on Sunday, March 6.  Crews arrived to find black smoke coming from the roof and eves of the garage.

Extinguishing the fire was difficult due to high winds, but crew members got in under control after around 30 minutes.

No civilian injuries were reported. The firefight that was injured was taken to a local hospital for treatment. No word, yet, about the cause.
