Benton Harbor State of The City calls for lead pipe removal by May 2023

Benton Harbor’s Mayor delivered his State of the City Address Tuesday night.

Mayor Marcus Muhammad touched on the lead water crisis, repeating the goal to have all the pipes up to residences putting out safe, clean water by May of next year.

He also trumpeted multimillion-dollar plans to boost the city’s downtown area, and measures taken by city officials during the pandemic to keep the people safe.
