Area physicians headed to Ukraine

Some doctors from our area have traveled to Ukraine to help those in need.

Recently, a group of area doctors led by Dr. Sherrell O’Donnell of St. Joe, Michigan joined up with physicians from Georgia, Oklahoma and Louisiana. They are expected to arrive in Ukraine Tuesday afternoon after going through the lengthy process involved in getting permission to travel there.

ABC 57 News reports that Dr. O’Donnell is calling this “a scouting trip” as they will be paving the way for subsequent teams, and they are bringing along more than $10,000 worth of medicine and supplies — along with their expertise.
