Get ready for a big traffic project on the north side of the Notre Dame Campus.

Improvements and widening on Douglas Road by INDOT crews will cause closures over the next six months at various points between Twyckenham and Ironwood. It’s going to create traffic headaches for commuters, golfers looking to get into the Warren Golf Course, and those getting onto the campus for the this year’s reunion, commencements, two huge concerts with Garth Brooks and Billy Joel, and possibly three home football games.

When it’s over, Douglas will be a 4-lane road with ample turning lanes and better lighting.

The project should wrap up in mid-October. It was originally expected to begin on April 4, but has been postponed due to utility delays.
