A Hall of Fame Coach in Berrien County is retiring after more than a half-century.

Lakeshore High School Wrestling Coach Bruce Bittenbender is stepping away from the mat after 52 years. He’s led the Lancers to 13 regional championships since 1970 and he helped coach 26 wrestlers to state titles, according to WSBT.

Coach Bittenbender has already said he’s going to continue to help coach and fill in when needed, and the school says they have already found his successor.
