A former Indiana State Senator has pleaded guilty to federal charges.

Brent Waltz served in the state senate from 2005 to 2017. He pleaded guilty in federal court to making and receiving conduit contributions, which is money that actually comes from another source than the donor, as well as making false statements to the FBI.

Waltz faces up to five years in prison and will be sentenced at a later date.
