Niles downtown to benefit from improvement grants

Niles is one of eight communities in Michigan that will benefit from $160,000 in Downtown Improvement Grants.

It’s on a list that includes Grand Haven, Lansing, Sault Ste. Marie and others announced earlier this week by Governor Whitmer.

Michigan Business reports that it’s part of her administration’s commitment to support small businesses while the state grows its economy. Vibrant downtowns are a big part of that strategy.

Niles has been awarded a Vibrancy Grant to help The City of Four Flags put in place recommendations from the recent Winter Cities Report, and help create the in-progress outdoor area.
