A 15-year-old girl is recovering after she was shot in Elkhart.

The victim said she was walking in the area of Marion Street and Oakland Avenue around 3 p.m. on Monday, April 18,  when she was hit by a bullet to the lower extremities.

Police were called to the hospital where they met up with the victim.

So far, there is no word of any suspects or arrests.
