Two people arrested for robberies in Berrien County

Two people were arrested in Berrien County, after authorities say they broke into four convivence stores.

Police say they responded to an alarm at a convenience store on Stateline Road in Niles, at 2:28 am, Wednesday, June 1, where they found signs of a break in.

While they were there, three other break-ins were reported, in the area.

According to police, deputies went to one of the stores, in Galien, and saw two people drive away from the scene.

After following the car and then on foot, the two people, 26-year-old Maleik Johnson and 24-year-old Lashan Wyatt were taken to the Berrien County Jail.

The two are facing charges of fleeing and eluding, breaking and entering, possession of stolen vehicle, resisting and obstructing police, and possession of concealed weapon and felony firearms.
