Bristol man arrested after deputy chase, found hiding in swamp

A Bristol man was arrested after allegedly leading deputies on a vehicle chase Thursday night.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office stated that deputies responded to a chase at 9:45 p.m. that began in Warsaw and ended near East County Line Road and 2B Road after the driver lost control and crashed the vehicle.

After crashing the vehicle, the driver allegedly ran from the scene.

K-9 Diesel located the driver hiding underwater in a swamp beneath a fallen tree.

The driver was identified as 27-year-old Ryan Kreft. He was taken to the Kosciusko County Jail on the following preliminary charges:

Resisting law enforcement
Criminal recklessness
Reckless driving
Driving while suspended
Theft of a motor vehicle
Possession of stolen property

ABC 57 News reports that Kreft also had active warrants.
