Gleason Industrial Products INC. in Goshen wants city council decision to be reversed.

Goshen Common Council approved an apartment project to rezone 620 E. Douglas St.

Gleason Industrial Products says that the project is changing the character of the neighborhood, which mostly consist of single-family homes.

Now, Gleason is asking a judge to review the council’s decision and reverse the apartments.

The Elkhart Truth reports that the council did not go through the proper channels when they proposed the zone change.

Gleason’s petitions says that the amended proposal was amended so much, that it could be considered a new proposal.

Looks like Gleason is (rightly) worried about crime, looking at Google maps. Seems like an odd place to drop an apartment complex, unless you’re after AFFH dollars.
