Police in Goshen have arrested a man after a chase that they say tested with nearly three times the legal amount of alcohol in his system.

It was just after 11 o’clock, Friday night, at Pike and Chicago, when police tried to pull over the suspect for alleged multiple traffic infractions.

But they say the driver, 34-year-old Felipe Romo Castro, wouldn’t stop… and led them on a short vehicle pursuit.

Once they caught up to him, they say Felipe provided a preliminary breath test sample resulting in the reading of point-2-2-6.

He was then taken to the Goshen Hospital where a blood search warrant was completed and was then take to the at the Elkhart County Jail on preliminary charges of OWI, resisting and never having a driver’s license.
