Two men have been found guilty in the latest Governor Whitmer kidnapping trial.

Barry Croft Jr and Adam Fox were both found guilty Tuesday of Kidnapping Conspiracy, and Conspiracy to use a weapon of mass destruction. Croft was also found guilty of possessing an unregistered destructive device.

The jury delivered a victory for prosecutors in the foiled plot, which was considered a rallying cry for a US Civil War by antigovernmental extremists.

Whitmer released a statement shortly after the verdicts, saying they “prove that violence and threats have no place in our politics and those who seek to divide us will be held accountable.”

It was the second trial for the pair after a jury in April failed to reach a unanimous verdict.
