Boy, 16, dead after he and another teen were found unresponsive at McNaughton Park

A 16-year-old boy has died after he, and another teen, were found unresponsive in McNaughton Park.

Elkhart Police were sent around 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 23, to the park in the 700 block of Arcade Avenue after getting a 911 call regarding a male who was unresponsive by the river.

The two teens were located.  Nurses in the area rendered first aid, as did medics. Narcan was administered.

Both juveniles were taken to the hospital. One of the juveniles was revived, and the second juvenile was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The Elkhart County Homicide Unit was activated, and has taken over the investigation.
