MSP halt THC blood tests on drivers due to possible failures in tests

The Michigan State Police have temporarily halted blood testing for THC for drivers suspected of being impaired.

The State Police have admitted that their established testing process was possibly flawed, which could have led to false positive results. Some people may have been wrongly accused as a result, to the tune of several thousand cases statewide.

The agency has halted further blood toxicology testing for THC until a third party can be arranged or the likely problem with the test can be resolved.

The agency plans to notify prosecutors across the state of specific cases that may be impacted.
