A Niles man is sentenced to prison after stabbing his neighbor.

It happened on July 22, when the man, 29-year-old Colin James Sanderson, was being confronted by the father of a young woman at a downtown show.

Leader Publication reports that a woman who lived nearby came out with a baseball bat and that Sanders stabbed the woman multiple times.

She spent 1 month in the hospital.

Sanderson pleaded guilty to assault with intent to do great bodily harm and was sentenced to 6 to 10 years in prison and also fines.

His charges of possession of meth/ecstasy and assault and battery chargers were dismissed.
