It’s probation for a Dowagiac man after he fled from police, who found drugs and stolen property in his car when they caught up to him.

It was back in February when police in Dowagiac spotted Anthony Schar, 34, in a stolen vehicle.

Schar sped off, then took off when the vehicle got stuck in the snow. Leader Publications reports police found a chain saw, tools, TV, marijuana and meth inside the vehicle.

Schar pleaded guilty to charges connected to the stolen car, fleeing, resisting and obstructing, along with drug possession.

For that, he was sentenced to three years probation, credit for 185 days served and must pay more than $3,300 in fines and restitution.
