A Trine University professor has been arrested for child pornography.
The Angola Police Department say that former biology professor, Steven Messer, was arrested Tuesday on 15 counts of child exploitation.
The investigation started after Angola police say they received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. That investigation found that no local children were involved.
Court documents say that Messer uploaded over 20 child pornography onto a Google Drive account from his computer at Trine University on July 21st, 2022. While being interviewed, Messer acknowledged that the photos were pornographic.
Because of the investigation and arrest, Trine University has terminated Messer.
Angola Police, Indiana State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, and Homeland Security Investigations arrested Messer without incident and took him to Steuben County jail.
