South Bend Common Council approves tax abatement

(95.3 MNC)

South Bend’s Common Council has approved a one-million dollar tax abatement for developers who want to turn a four story medical building that’s been sitting empty for years into a new apartment complex.

The building, near Saint Joseph High School at Notre Dame Avenue and Cedar Street will have a mix of studio and one-bedroom apartments once the conversion is finished.

They hope to have the building ready for tenants by next fall.
