A standout athlete from both South Bend Washington High School and Notre Dame is now also an Emmy winner.

One of Michiana’s favorite daughters, Skylar Diggins-Smith, has had a great career in the WNBA, where the Tulsa Shock selected her 3rd overall. She moved with the team to Dallas a few years later and is now a member of the Phoenix Mercury.

But she’s also stepping into a new role as a broadcaster for the Phoenix Suns. Now she’s won an Emmy for her broadcasting. For the record, she’s one-quarter of the way to winning an EGOT, and it’s hard to think of anyone with that honor who was also the Nancy Lieberman Point Guard of the Year.
