Michigan families getting food assistance benefits are receiving more payments this holiday season.

They’ll be getting an additional payment of at least $95 in the month of December, to help cover the cost of groceries.

Governor Gretchen Whitmer says that the additional payment will help more than 1.3 Michiganders in 700,000 households.

WNDU reports that households eligible for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program will get at least $95, even if they already receive the maximum payment.

Below are the maximum allowable benefits for SNAP customers based on their respective household size:

One Person: $281
Two Persons: $516
Three Persons: $740
Four Persons: $939
Five Persons: $1,116
Six Persons: $1,339
Seven Persons: $1,480
Eight Persons: $1,691

Those who are eligible do not need to re-apply for the additional benefits.

You can check your balance on a Michigan Bridge Card online.
