Male, dog, injured in shooting on Huey Street in South Bend

A male and a dog were hurt in a shooting in South Bend.

Around 7 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 23, South Bend Police were called to the 2200 block of N. Huey Street on the report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located a male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

The male was transported to the hospital for treatment and is currently in stable condition.

A dog was also wounded in the shooting and was transported to a veterinarian by Animal Control.

The South Bend Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit is handling this investigation.
