Michigan City woman, 56, arrested for OWI after leading deputies on chase

A Michigan City woman has been arrested after leading LaPorte County Sheriff’s deputies on a pursuit.

The chase happened around 2 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 30, after deputies were sent to the area of County Road 200 North and County Road 950 West in Coolspring Township after receiving a call about of a reckless driver.

When officers arrived on scene, they located the vehicle, and the driver, Carla Biddle, 56, and tried to pull her over, but she failed to stop.

She eventually stopped in a driveway in the 8600 West block of County Road 200 North but would not get out of the SUV.

Officers had to extricate her. After a blood test, Biddle was arrested for operating while intoxicated and resisting law enforcement.

She was taken to the LaPorte County Jail and is being held without bond.
