South Bend International Airport’s eleventh annual Bears in the Air program raised $10,000 to benefit local Veterans residing at the Robert L. Miller, Sr. Veteran’s Center at the Center for the Homeless.
The airport presented a giant $10,000 check on Thursday morning, Feb. 2, at the vets’ center.
Over the past eleven years, the airport has helped raised $86,600 to assist the Veterans through the “Bears In The Air” program.
The donation is in addition to more than 2,500 teddy bears that were delivered to children in six area hospitals back in December.
