A Sunday evening traffic stop led to the arrest 49-year-old Michael Whitfield.

He’s facing charges for possession and dealing of methamphetamine, obstruction of justice, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and operating a vehicle while having a suspended license.

Indiana State Police reported that Whitfield was stopped for a traffic violation and was showing indicators of possible criminal activity.

A narcotics-detecting K-9 was brought in and alerted to drugs in the car.

Officers found marijuana, three cell phones, and drug paraphernalia, as well as a small bag of suspected meth outside the front passenger door.

Whitfield was booked into the Miami County Jail.
