Man arrested in connection with LaCrosse bank robbery

A man has been arrested in connection with the robbery of the 1st Source Bank in LaCrosse.
The heist happened around 3 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 24.
Charles R. Rootes Jr., 64, allegedly entered the branch and ordered a worker to hand over money. Rootes left the bank a short time later with an undisclosed amount of money.
Following the robbery, a major investigation was launched by members of the Criminal Investigations Division, along with the assistance of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
In the days thereafter, detectives began to process leads and developed Rootes as a suspect. He was taken into custody on Wednesday in Michigan City.
Rootes remains in the LaPorte County Jail and is being held on a $15,000 cash-only bond.

Can the bank robber use the stolen money for his bail bond, and hire an attorney to represent him in court ?
