La Porte County Schools are taking action due to the widespread use of e-cigarettes and vaping devices.

Several LaPorte County school corporations have installed vape sensors inside their buildings for detection purposes due to the devices disrupting normal education and operations.

Recently, the sheriff’s office say School Administrators and a school resource officer confiscated an assortment of prohibited items from several students.

Some of these vapes were infused with doses of THC.  Police are asking parents to talk with their teenagers and even to conduct a search of their bedrooms and backpacks for vaping devices.
