Another local school superintendent is leaving his post.
Dowagiac Union Schools Superintendent Jonathan Whan issued a letter to parents and staff that stated he will retire after the 2023-24 school year.
His career in education has spanned more than three decades.
He says he’s giving a year’s long notice to allow the school board to develop a solid transition plan for whoever takes over his post.
