A housing development in Benton Harbor is getting a helping hand from City Commissioners.

Benton Harbor’s Project T development has been given an extension. WSJM reports that this comes after the project hit a setback from the state. Last week the project was approved for a couple of six month extensions to help further the plan along after it was denied state tax credits.

Project T would convert the former Mercy Hospital site into low and middle income housing. Mayor Muhammad says the project could reapply for state tax credits.
