Airbnb encourages Indiana neighbors to tattle if they see wild parties on rental properties

Airbnb is encouraging neighbors in Indiana to get in touch with them in real-time if they spot a party in progress at a home they believe is listed on the popular rental site.
With the summer holidays approaching, Airbnb has announcing measures aimed at reducing the risk of disruptive and unauthorized parties.
Part of the crackdown is using so-called “nosy neighbors.” The center of the crackdown is a block on certain 1-night and 2-night reservations over both Memorial Day weekend and Fourth of July weekend for entire home listings in Indiana, and throughout the United States.
The short-term rentals are identified as potentially higher-risk. Last year, more than 100 people were flagged from bookings over Memorial Day weekend due to their defense.
