Notre Dame researchers, Michiana community benefit from new health care coalition

(Tommie Lee/MNC)

A coalition of community health workers, led by The University of Notre Dame, is looking to address disparities in health care in Michiana.

The university has brought together a group of health workers, addiction peer recovery coaches, and others to advance research, improve public health, and create opportunities for education in the South Bend and Elkhart areas.

The Michiana Community Health Coalition will meet once per month to share the latest data and create solutions together, while also learning from other guests and researchers at Notre Dame.

Already, the coalition has developed a network to improve access to care and resources in the community.
