Former Chief of Police in Hartford charged with several criminal offenses

The woman who previously served as the Chief of Police in Hartford, Michigan, has been charged with several criminal offenses.
The charges include the alleged sale and theft of controlled substances, as well as the misuse of her position to extort others into providing her with such substances.
Tressa Beltran, who retired earlier this year, made an appearance in court on Wednesday and faces  a total of nine counts related to the accusations. Additionally, she stands accused of the unlawful possession of multiple types of controlled substances and embezzlement.
Beltran faces the following charges:
One count of delivery or possession with the intent to deliver less than 50 grams of a controlled substance
One count of using a computer to commit a crime
One count of extortion
One count of embezzlement by a public official over $50 in value
One count of misconduct in office
One count of larceny in a building
One count of possession of less than 25 grams of a controlled substance
One count of possession of a controlled substance/analogues
One count of possession of a Schedule 5 controlled substance
